Hurricane Ike blew into Silsbee in the early morning hours on Saturday, September 13th. We will be picking up the pieces for a while.

Despite lots of debris and some downed trees, the church and the rectory are both in tact. Fr. John, Donna and Taylor weathered the storm at the rectory and all are okay. There is some minor siding damage at the church and some small trees down on the roof of the nursery. We will plan to have a Vestry meeting after the 11:00 am service on Sunday, September 28th.

After the storm, most phones were out and the power went out in most of East Texas. It will be several weeks before everyone in Southeast Texas gets their lights on. Although, only a week has passed, Silsbee is on its way to recovery. We hope to have 100% power back on by September 29th.

Although we have talked with several parishioners on the phone, we still have not been able to get in touch with many others. We will continue trying to get in touch with the parishioners whom we havent heard from. The church phones are not currently working, but if you can get through to Fr. Johns cell phone, we do look forward to hearing from everyone. Please try to call him at 504-2044. There have been no injuries of our parishioners that we know of at this time.
